Blog 8: English Language Challenges

Imagen
Hi! we've reached the last blog of the semester jsjs :D This time I have to write about my experience learning English at the University. Before talking about it, I must mention that since I was a child I never had the proper stimulation to recognize the phonemes of English, neither at home nor in my primary school. I was never encouraged to learn the language, And I did not find it useful in my daily life, no one explained to me how important it can be to learn it. When I was in high school I began to take more importance of the English language, but nevertheless the hearing deficiencies and the low spirits acquired during my first 14 years with respect to learning the language prevented me from progressing (in addition to the fact that the teacher's voice bothered my ears quite a bit). Once in the University, I started from the lowest level of English, at that time I was forced to improve since I had a trip scheduled to Texas, USA, with competitive reasons, but still I ...

Blog 7: Music

Imagen
Hello! Welcome to my new Post, this time I have to talk about a subject that fascinates me a lot, the Music. I like many musical genres, including classical music, baroque music, neoclassical metal, symphonic metal, folk metal, celtic metal, celtic music, j-pop, rock, pop rock, country, blues, r&b, tango, flamenco, ballads and others, the only thing I can rule out is Reggaeton and Trap (although there is a possibility that there are some songs from these genres that I do like). But what I like best is when the styles are mixed to generate a new style, which could not be accurately labeled in any category. What I like about music in general and the styles I listen to most often, is the harmonic, melodic and rhythmic complexity. Also, for music with lyrics, I like the complexity of vocal techniques, the registers they can reach, and the content of the lyrics (some look like poems), plus I find it wonderful when artists put passion and talent into their so...

Blog 6: Future postgraduate study

Imagen
Hi! Today I'm supposed to talk about the postgraduate course I want to take in the future.      Actually, I don't have it planned yet, as I mentioned in my previous post " I don't usually plan many things. When I plan something important it usually has unfavorable results, unlike other times when my plans are more vague or I have no plans, and the results are favorable".     I want to have at least one or two postgraduate course, since that way I'd feel better prepared for the job ,  plus, I'd have a better chance in the world of work. I have always thought about taking a postgraduate course in the field of Legal Psychology (Penitentiary or Forensic), and as a complement a course in Psychotherapy (I don't know what approach I want yet, can be cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic or group), because my dream (as I mentioned in the previous post) is to work as a legal psychologist.     Legal psychology changes from...

Blog 5: My future job

Imagen
Hello, today I'm going to talk about my future work.      It's hard for me to write about this because I don't usually plan many things. When I plan something important it usually has unfavorable results, unlike other times when my plans are more vague or I have no plans, and the results are favorable.       I am currently studying Psychology, but to say that I will be a psychologist is too broad, I will try to narrow it down. At the University of Chile there are about 5 to 7 areas in which we can specialize in psychology, I have more moved closer to the field of Experimental Psychology and Neurosciences and the area of legal Psychology, I am trying to specialize more in the latter (and in therapy), I hope to be able to apply and generate knowledge of scientific psychology in the field of the legal. but saying "I'll be a legal psychologist" is still too broad.      There are several places and ...

Blog 4: My pets: The cat and the Rat

Imagen
Hello! Welcome back to my blog. Today I am very excited because the theme of this post is; My Pets. In my house in the country we have many pets; 2 dogs, 8 cats, a lot of chickens and my precious White Rat. For not to mention all my pets, I will talk only about two, with whom we share a special bond, these are my female cat "Pelusa" and my female white rat "Chiki". First I'll talk about the Pelusa/Pelu: Pelusa pretending to be dead      The Pelusa/Pelu is a long haired cat with pastel coloured spots (brown, lead and white), she is a very good hunter! she often comes with rodents or reptiles for her kittens. I do not remember well who gave us to Pelusa, it was a long time ago, but what I do remember is that she was very small (grew very slowly), it seems that it was because of your genetics since most of their children are small too.      La Pelu is without a doubt the most affectionate cat that I have had, just by looking at our eyes...

Blog 3: My Favorite Series: Mea Culpa

Imagen
Hi! and welcome again to my blog, in this occasion I will talk about my favorite series (although I wanted to talk about my pets:c).           While the most of the series that I seen are japanese animation (I’m not otaku!), in this occasion I think that talk about a chilean series that  was directed by Carlos Pinto, “ Mea Culpa ”. This series began to be trasmitted by Televisión Nacional in 1993. each chapter lasts approximately 90min, and consists in a recreation of a crime that has shocked the country, furthermore, Usually Carlos Pinto interviews criminal actors and family members of the victims if they agree, sometimes even some experts in the field of law give their opinion on this (eg. Legal Psychologists, Criminologist Lawyer). Mea Culpa is very interesting for me, since I like very much the area of legal psychology (I plan to dedicate myself to this in the future).            From time to time I watch ...

Blog 2: My best holiday ever

Imagen
Hi! And welcom to secund blog.         This time I'll tell you about my best holiday.  Without a doubt, my best vacation was in march of this year (2020), which consisted of a family trip to the Province of Valdivia. Whit my mother, father and my both sibling stayed for 2 nights in a cabin located in a rural place of Panguipulli, and on our last night we slept in other cabin overlooking a small fishing port that is close to Valdivia.         We knew many places of native natural reserve, also we traveled by boat on some lakes, and on the last day we visited to Fuerte Niebla. Although it was only a few days we did a lot of activities, we ended up very tired.         This was my best vacation because.... In really think that was my only holiday, or at least the only family vacation. Some of these places I already knew them from my fourth grade tour, but this trip was not very pleasant,...
